A few weeks ago, Blue Security and its Blue Frog anti-spam service were beaten down by a raging spammer who launched a denial-of-service attack against their servers and an extortion campaign against its customers (including me). Blue Frog was down for a while but came back swinging.

This morning I noticed that my Blue Frog reports weren't going anywhere. I sniffed around on Technorati for news, and I couldn't believe what I found there. I went to Slashdot and got confirmation: "Blue Security Gives up the Fight."

What's it going to take now? Physical force against spammers? A real war with real bloodshed?

On a happier note, I should say that by going to my Pobox account and telling it to bounce all mail coming to me from outside North America, I've decimated my incoming volume of spam.
